How do I set the Carrier ID?

How do I set the Carrier ID?

Simplewire HIGHLY recommends that you do NOT set the Carrier ID. However, the property is there in case it must be overridden at any point. We feel as though it gives more control to the programmer. Nevertheless, the ONLY time to ever set a Carrier ID is if you receive a 345 error, indicating that Simplewire was unable to recognize the carrier from the Pin #. This is a very rare error, which occurs less than 1 time out of 20,000.

However, if you do still wish to override Simplewire's carrier recognition, or if you are sending messages to a device whose carrier is not being recognized, you may do so. Please refer to the manual of your particular Software Development Kit for information on how to set the Carrier ID.

To see a list of Carrier ID's, refer to your Software Development Kit manual in order to learn how to execute a "Service List" command.
